About

Lensgrade is an on-device photo keeper-check that helps you sort soft shots from sharp ones. Choose a photo and Lensgrade scores it locally. It measures sharpness, then goes further: it finds the subject (a face, or a center region when there is no face) and scores focus there so a sharp portrait on a plain background stops reading soft. It builds a luminance histogram to flag clipped highlights…

Lensgrade 2.1 adds a no-permission sample workflow, a source-backed Field Lab, and a next-shot plan on every result. - Try sample photo: the Score tab can analyze a bundled image with the same production pipeline, so new users and reviewers can see a full result before opening Photos. - Rank sample roll: the Batch tab can score a bundled five-photo roll and show the ranked keeper workflow immediately. - Field Lab: Learn now includes 16 offline technique cards with source links covering Laplacian sharpness, focus maps, subject ROI scoring, shutter safety, histograms, depth of field, low light, EXIF audits, and CSV review. - Next-shot plan: Result now turns diagnosis into practical actions such as faster shutter, highlight protection, subject focus, or repeatable test steps. Existing scores are preserved. Core scoring remains on device with no account, no tracking, and no in-app purchases.

  • v1.31mo ago

Lensgrade 1.3 adds a Shot Diagnosis, full EXIF display, and library stats. - Shot Diagnosis: every result now shows the single most likely reason a frame is soft - camera shake, focus miss, or extreme exposure - with a plain-English tip to fix it on the next shot. - Quantified shake: when EXIF data is present the shake card shows the actual shutter speed used vs the safe threshold and how many stops off it was (e.g. "1.5 stops too slow · used 1/40 s, needed 1/130 s"). - EXIF panel: focal length, 35mm equivalent, shutter speed as a clean fraction, aperture, and ISO are shown for every scored photo that carries metadata. - Library stats: the History tab now opens with a keep rate, average composite score, and a star-distribution bar so you can track how your shooting is improving over time. Existing scores are preserved. Everything runs on device - no account, no tracking, no in-app purchases.

  • v1.11mo ago

Lensgrade 1.1 is a major on-device upgrade. Subject-aware sharpness scores the face or subject region, not just the whole frame; an exposure and histogram check flags clipped highlights and shadows; a camera-shake check reads EXIF focal length and shutter speed and applies the reciprocal rule to tell shake-soft from focus-soft; a combined keeper-or-cull verdict with a transparent breakdown of every signal; batch now groups frames into bursts and crowns the best pick; searchable, sortable history with re-openable saved batches and CSV export; and a new Learn tab (glossary, guides, crop-factor table, typical score ranges), all offline. No account, no tracking, no in-app purchases.
