About
Every photo tells you where. StatSnap tells you where, which way, how high, and how fast. StatSnap is a camera that writes your live sensor readings straight into the picture. Frame the shot, tap the shutter, and your coordinates, compass direction, altitude and speed are burned into the photo itself — at full camera resolution, not stamped onto a screenshot. StatSnap has been rebuilt from the inside out. Photos at full camera resolution. StatSnap used to build your photo by capturing the screen, which limited the result to the size of your display. It doesn't any more. Stats are now composited directly into the camera's own full-resolution capture — up to 12 megapixels instead of around 3 — and rendered as vector text rather than scaled-up pixels. The difference is obvious the moment you zoom in. Twice as fast. Tap-to-photo time is down by more than half, from roughly nine tenths of a second to just over four tenths. The shutter also flashes instantly when you tap, so there's feedback straight away. A clearer permissions walkthrough. Camera, location and photo library each get their own page explaining what it's for and what StatSnap does — and doesn't do — with it. Location and photo access are optional and say plainly what you lose by skipping. If you've already denied something, you get step-by-step directions to the right Settings screen, and StatSnap notices the moment you come back. Fixed: crash on launch on iOS 26 and later. StatSnap now adopts the modern app lifecycle iOS requires. This was preventing the app from starting at all on current versions of iOS. Fixed: oversized banners in landscape. The stat banners could swell to cover most of a landscape photo. They now hold the same proportion of the frame in any orientation. Fixed: buttons covering your readings. The colour and camera-flip buttons could sit on top of the Altitude and Speed values in portrait. They're now positioned from the banner itself, so they stay clear whatever its height. Fixed: "failed to save" on photos that saved fine. Saving to your library reported an error for photos that had arrived perfectly well. Also in this release: tap-to-focus on the preview, an overlay that matches between preview and export at any resolution, and units that follow your device's region settings.
