SAVE IMPORTED WAYPOINTS AS PLACEMARKS Tap any waypoint from an imported KML, KMZ, or GPX layer and save it as a placemark of your own - depth filled in automatically, ready to favorite, rename, or navigate to. UPDATED FAD STATUSES Refreshed from the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology (September 2026). Six FADs are back in service - Oahu S (Pokai Bay) and HH (Ewa), and Kauai Z, CK, EK, and WK - while Big Island A (Ka Lae) is newly missing.

EDITABLE MEASUREMENT POINTS Drag any measurement pin to move it, tap a pin to delete just that point, or undo the last one — distances and bearings update automatically. SAVE POINTS AS PLACEMARKS Turn any measurement point — or all of them at once — into saved placemarks, each with the depth filled in automatically. DEEPER CONTOUR LINES Depth contours now extend to 1,500 and 2,000 fathoms — eight toggleable fathom lines from 40 to 2,000, each with its own line style.

DEPTH CONTOUR LINES Toggle fathom lines at 40, 100, 200, 500, 750, and 1,000 fathoms drawn on top of the color bathymetry. BEARING WHEN MEASURING Measurement mode now shows the heading and return bearing for your current leg, and a new Bearing Reference setting displays all bearings as true or magnetic, in measurement and navigation modes. NAVIGATE TO IMPORTED WAYPOINTS Tap an imported waypoint's callout to see its details and navigate to it, just like placemarks you created in the app. UPDATED FAD STATUSES Oahu FADs U, LL, and X are back in service (August 2026).

IMPORT MAP LAYERS Bring your spots into Hawaii Ocean Map from KML, KMZ, or GPX files — exports from Google Earth, Navionics, Garmin, and most chartplotters and fishing apps all work. Each file becomes its own map layer of points, lines, and areas that you can rename, show or hide, and tap for details — synced across your devices with iCloud.
