CapWords: AI Language Tutor

CapWords 2.0 officially introduces Speak. For the past seven months, we have been trying to turn a slightly wild idea in our heads into something real. This is the most important update since CapWords launched: AI can now interact with your real life, help reduce the anxiety of speaking, and stay with you as you naturally practice a foreign language from your own day. I often think about how traditional speaking practice is built around fictional scenes and fixed templates. Conversations that have nothing to do with your own life can be hard to start, and even harder to care about. From the first day of CapWords, we wanted to change that and make language learning feel more natural. So in Speak, there are no imaginary scripts. Your conversation topics come from the real, lived, breathing world around you. Speak understands what happened in your day and helps you learn language through it. Core features New Speak: practice speaking from your own life Say goodbye to cold speaking tests and stiff drills. Speak feels more like a friend who understands your context, adapts to your level, and naturally brings your saved words into the conversation. No exam pressure. Just easier, more human communication. Use today’s photos: turn your day into word stickers Where you went, what you ate, what you saw today. These real moments become the most natural reasons to start speaking. Pick photos from your day, and CapWords helps turn them into personal word stickers for practice. Your Buddy: AI speaking companions with different personalities We built AI buddies with different conversation styles. Whether you want a gentle, encouraging listener or a sharper practice partner with more rhythm, you can find the speaking flow that feels most comfortable. Choosing a buddy should feel a little like meeting a friend. AI already knows the world through massive amounts of data. But it still does not truly know the specific, living “you”. Your tiredness, your joy, the coffee you had today. With transparency and control in your hands, we hope AI can better understand your world, then help you learn a language more naturally. Just like when we were children, learning language inside the environment we knew best.
