2.8.1 is a polish release on top of 2.8.0's map-based search. Search and the location pane now behave like Google/Apple Maps: every suggestion drops the sheet to half height, the keyboard gets out of the way, the map centers the result in the visible area, and addresses get a Directions button. Default locations update right away when changed in Settings, My Saves remembers your page and scroll position, and a few farm/contact permission bugs are fixed. CarPlay cold starts now show the "Assigned to me" layer.

The highlight of 2.8.0 centers on bringing map-centric search to iOS. Search moves onto the map with a "search this area" flow, mirroring the recent web platform improvements. Designed for reps, an "Assigned to me" layer surfaces linked contacts and operations. Contacts gain in-app relationship manager editing, and a batch of fixes lands for notes rendering, CarPlay pan mode, farm creation, and contact phone-number parsing.

Notes and connected operations now degrade gracefully for users whose subscription tier or RBAC permissions don't cover them, instead of showing dead UI. Fixes an issue that was always displaying a prospect icon for contacts in search results.

The app gains an improved CarPlay experience — an Explore screen with recents, map layers and settings; detail screens and a nearby search for operations, contacts, farms and parcels with directions and one-tap calling; Outside CarPlay, saving a parcel owner as a contact becomes a one-click action, and a few minor UX improvements

Build 2.5.0 is centered on the new role-based access control (RBAC) system. User permissions now gate deep research, note creation/editing, operation edit/merge/create, contact editing, and tag management. The release also improves reliability based on a few reported issues
