Fixes The map now opens even when location is turned off; your downloaded offline maps display without any problems. Fixed an issue where targets could disappear in files containing a large number of targets. The map's first load is noticeably faster and tab switching is smoother. What's New Circle drawing: press and drag on the map to create a circle at any radius, give it a name and color, then move or edit it later. Precise point placement with a button: you can place target, route and measurement points exactly on the crosshair. Mil support in measurements, along with back azimuth information. Live distance, azimuth and back azimuth to the point you are looking at on the map. Target elevation is now shown in both meters and feet. One-tap access to the offline map download screen directly from the map. Large text option for menus, plus more readable text colors. Bulk actions on targets by selecting folders. Happy exploring! NEW: PROJECT (GIS) Workspace You can now manage all your field data under one roof. Waypoints, routes, slope measurements, areas, track records and imported map layers — all grouped into a single project. Attribute templates: Define your own fields for a project (date, site no, approval status...). Tap a waypoint or line and this information appears automatically. Active project: When you set a project as active, everything you create at that moment is automatically added to it. Type-based visibility: One-tap control like "show only waypoints" or "hide areas". One-tap sharing: Export the whole project as KML / KMZ / GPX / Shapefile / GIS-UTM — opens directly in ArcGIS and QGIS. Safe deletion: Full control is yours. Navigation & Position Lock (Most Requested Feature) Position lock: The map now moves with you, just like professional navigation apps. Live position + heading arrow: A blue marker clearly showing your location and the direction you're facing. Heading beam & directional crosshair: A beam showing where you're looking. GIS / KML File Support Mining concession, cadastre and tender-group KML/KMZ files now open — hundreds of polygons load onto the map in color and filled. Tap → attribute table: Tap a site and its details appear at the bottom (Area, Mining Group, Polygon No, Province, District...). The color and icon you chose in another GIS program are reflected exactly in the app. A smart standard. Make editable: Keep an imported file as a view-only layer, or convert it into editable waypoints/routes/areas with a single tap (one by one or all at once). We've made AlpinQuest more powerful and reliable in the field — a comprehensive update focused on 3D terrain, offline use and precise coordinate systems. 3D Terrain Map The 3D terrain map can now be selected as a map layer. All your data in 3D: targets, routes, measurement routes, areas and track recordings. Tap targets/routes to view their details, long-press to add a target. Draw a route on the 3D map. Live track recording in 3D, in real time. When a mission starts, the map rotates like a compass, focuses on the start point, with a live character at your location. Pitch (tilt) control, center crosshair + bottom data panel (elevation/speed). Download the 3D map offline — download the visible area, manage downloaded regions. New Coordinate System India DSM (WGS 84 / India NSF LCC) support — in the position readout, map bar, coordinate search and target info cards. Works fully on-device. Reliability & Offline Connection-aware offline maps — tiles are fetched when online, downloaded tiles appear instantly when offline. Track recovery — if the app closes during recording, the unfinished track is detected on reopen. 2D Map & iOS The compass screen was redesigned; live character at your location during a mission, "end target" badge.
